Treasures From the Piano Stool

If you have an old piano at home, you might like to lift the lid of the piano stool. 
Our old piano is 131 years old. The piano stool isn't quite that old, but nevertheless, I found a remarkable collection of old music books inside, including a lovely old book that belonged to my late mother in law which was printed in 1929! 

Inside the book, which is written for a teacher of a young beginner, there are some interesting passages, like this one:
